Amy has always had a passion for homeownership and the financial security it represents. Growing up, her family went through a difficult time when her parents separated, and she saw firsthand the challenges her mother faced in trying to secure a new home. This experience instilled in her a strong desire to become a homeowner herself, and she made it her goal from a young age.
With 10 years experience in law and finance (working as an admitted barrister and Solicitor and a Financial Adviser), Amy has the knowledge and skills to navigate the complex world of real estate. Her passion for housing has manifested throughout her career. In 2018 she built a co-ownership platform for a major bank and soon after ran to lead a political party. The political party Amy ran for was trying to bring in a Capital Gains Tax (which would make housing cheaper). Amy's campaign saw her place second as Deputy to the existing political leader. Having come at the housing problem from these different angles Amy was driven to deliver her own solution.
Amy purchased her first home with her mother as guarantor and purchased again when she found her partner of three months was working to buy his first home. She is an avid supporter of co-ownership and finding new ways onto the property ladder.
Having seen and experienced the challenges facing first home buyers, Amy set out to build a platform that would make it easier for others to buy property. Today, Amy is the founder of Slice, a platform that helps others achieve their dream of homeownership. She is dedicated to reducing barriers to ownership and creating a world where everyone has the opportunity to own a home.
